The Capture of Cerberus — Heracles’ Twelfth Labour
Heracles’ capture of Cerberus is the dramatic conclusion to the Twelve Labours, taking the legendary hero beyond the world of the living and into the realm of the dead. In this ancient Greek myth, Heracles descends into the Underworld, seeks an audience with Hades and Persephone, and confronts the fearsome three-headed guardian of the gates of Hades.
